Jeannette has given me permission to monitor comments on this blog, and as a result I have just removed 500 spam comments.
A few things have therefore been changed:
- Anonymous comments are no longer permitted.
- You will be asked to complete word verification
- All comments will be moderated prior to publication.
I apologise for any inconvenience, but I am confident you prefer that over seeing the tributes defiled by comment spam.

Complete prefer that Guido. Thank you for your efforts.
Anonymous comments are the product of cowardly people who 'don't have any skin in the game' IMO. I refuse to even publish them in my humble Blog: TOM'S JOURNAL. I think your over sight and spam killing are a good idea. Thank you!

I think it is the best thing you can do. People in general are just ignorant.

Spam comments are not a tribute to anyone.
makes much more sense...this special blog was created out of love and does not need any sort of violation in it....thanks Guido...Sandi
I totally agree...anyone who really knows these people won't mind leaving their names.
I wholheartedly agree Guido!
There has to be something wrong with anonymous people who leave despicable messages on a site such as this.
Thank you for taking on this extra challenge for our sakes and those who have gone before us.

I didn't realize that many J-Landers had already passed on. I visited this page for the first time only this evening. I've been gone way too long. I recognize some of the names... I saw Penny's name, but which Penny? Can someone tell me? I like that you have made a place to remember our friends.
I remember seeing some spam comments on here when I last looked in, it's the last place we want to see them. xx
I'm getting anonymous comments on my blog too. I don't know why people do that.
